Energy (Oil, Gas, Wind & Water)
Our home in West Texas is at the epicenter of the country’s energy present and future. Not only do we sit on or near a substantial amount of the known reserves of American oil and natural gas, but we are also one of the nation’s prime spots for the development of solar and wind energy.
Since 1928, McCleskey, Harriger, Brazill & Graf has helped businesses successfully pursue the search for, and the extraction, transport, and handling of, natural resources for use in the generation of energy. We also have a long history of representing landowners in landowner rights cases. One of our founding partners, George W. McCleskey, was instrumental in the development of the “reasonable accommodation” doctrine, which limits oil companies’ right to interfere with landowners’ activities. Mr. McCleskey was also a pioneer in Texas water law. In fact, the Texas Tech University School of Law’s endowed chair in water law is named for him. We are proud to carry on his tradition of helping the people of West Texas protect their land and water.
Our energy and natural resources practice includes representation of companies in the oil, natural gas, wind, water, and solar power industries. Our lawyers have been providing exceptional counsel to energy businesses for generations, including in these areas:
- Transactions and Contracts
- Eminent Domain
- Environmental Compliance
- Exploration and Drilling
- Regulatory Compliance
- Right of Way and Easements
- Water Law
- Wind Energy
McCleskey’s exceptional legal services and commitment to excellence help our clients succeed and prosper, even after their legal issues are resolved.
