Laura Hale thrilled to return to Lubbock as McCleskey’s newest partner
Laura Hale is returning to her hometown as the newest partner of the McCleskey Law Firm. Laura graduated from Coronado High School more years ago than she would care to admit. She graduated from Texas Tech University magna cum laude with a B.A. in English and cum laude from Texas Tech University School of Law. Laura spent the last twelve years practicing law in Amarillo.
“I’m excited to be practicing law with attorneys who are outstanding in their field while being some of the best people you will ever meet. The firm has such a strong history and reputation in West Texas and beyond. Everyone I’ve told about my new position either has positive comments about the attorneys, both past and present, or discusses the firm’s excellent reputation,” she said.
Her key areas of practice are oil and gas, labor and employment law, and estate planning, but her key belief for practicing law is relationships.
“Many of my clients have told me that I am more relational than they would expect. Relationships have always been important to me. I think there is so much truth to the Maya Angelou quote ‘I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.’ My strong relationships with my clients hopefully leaves a lasting memory of me as both a good person and a good attorney.”

Laura will also be handling estate planning and labor and employment law matters.”
Laura spent the majority of her career practicing oil and gas law. She has prepared hundreds of complicated title opinions for oil companies, and she has advised them on the complex issues pertaining to those opinions.
Laura believes it is simply God’s plan that she is back in Lubbock to practice law and spend more time with her family.
Her mom, Sherry Allen, and stepfather, Duane Allen, are the owners of Duane Allen, CPA. Her father, Dr. Andy Hale, is a family practice physician in Lubbock, and is married to Della Hale.
Laura is married to Sean Fuqua, a graduate of Texas Tech School of Architecture with a masters in architecture and a MBA. Sean is the facilities project manager and a banking officer with Amarillo National Bank.
